Every Six months..

I am going to give you the cliffs notes version of what's been happening in our lives the last six months. If I leave something out, I greatly apologize. Well we had our 15 month checkup as I alluded to in the last update in December, however in April had our 18 month also, so I will give you the stats from the most recent. We are 28lbs. 10oz and 34 inches long. So we're very tall, our pediatrician told Travis that Tennyson would at this rate be at least as tall as he is if not taller. We seem so heavy at times however are only in the 80th percentile for weight so nothing to worry about there (our head is also in the 80th, however our height is the 95th). Tennyson is doing so many new things, I will post some funny videos in another post however will do it today as well so you can see how animated he has become, he is just cracking us up all the time. We are also in the testing and tantrum stage however things are slowly getting better in that area as well.

Travis is still working for Wells Farms and in the post to follow please check out some of the equipment that he runs/maintains. As it is the middle of planting season (they have 2000 acres of soybeans remaining between Lock Springs, Jamesport and Union Star), we don't see him much however with school being out Tennyson and I are learning to be night owls.

I am out of school for the summer and this first week has been great, Tennyson and I have been able to do so many things, and our house is looking so clean, if I do say so myself, with the laundry and dishes done (most days more than once). There is a small cafe in Fairport that a coworker of Travis' wife is opening up this Sunday and I am going to help her out some, so Sunday I will let you know how it goes (sounds like we're having fried chicken). Otherwise we're just hanging out and enjoying ourselves for the most part.

As you can see from the photographs, we recently purchased Travis' first tractor, a John Deere of course. The yard here is rather large and while I told the guys I would push mow it this summer apparently dad (he used his rider on it twice already) and Travis didn't think that was in my best interest. So Travis visited with Mike Huffaker at Wells' Implement in Maysville and he got this one in on trade and it's wonderful. It only takes me about 2 hours to mow the yard now so it's great. I still have some weedeating to do afterwards but the decreased mowing time is great. From the moment it arrived Tennyson has thought it was his, and you can't mow without at least giving him a ride. We don't allow him on it while the blades are running. As soon as they got it off the trailer he crawled right up on it and sat there "steering" it for over an hour, it's great.

We also celebrated Poppie's (Ted) 50th birthday in March, with a surprise dinner for him at our house. Tyler and Jenny were able to come in from Quincy for a quick trip so it was great. As you can see from the photograph, we kids got he and Connie a canoe for their birthday's (Connie's is in September). It has been wonderful and we have already used it several times. Tennyson loves riding in it, he got a wonderful red lifejacket from Granny and Poppie for Easter and has got to wear it on the lake twice. Sorry I will post pictures of this later but I took them with cameras that were not my own and will get copies soon to post.

Speaking of the lake, the pictures of him in the truck going down the embankment (a video will follow, because well it's stinking hilarious) are from the Lake Club in Savannah. I didn't realize it but there's an entire lake surrounded by campsites (most are permanent, meaning you set your trailer up and don't have to move it and can use the area around it however you would like. The sites come with electricity and there is water and a shower house available on the premises.) It's wonderful and grandma and grandpa Newkirk were granted a spot for one year. They moved in the Saturday before mothers day, and Ted and Travis built them a great deck the weekend following and we've had so much fun out there every weekend since. I will post more pictures of course however again, not taken with my camera.

We celebrated with Grandma and Grandpa Newkirk their 60th wedding anniversary earlier this year (March). The photograph above of Ted, Connie and Tyler is with the pork loins that we served for the meal. The meal was wonderful but the fellowship with all those who were able to attend, family and friends was so sweet. It just makes you realize what an amazing couple they are and stand in awe of the number of lives God has used them to impact. It was breathtaking...

There is also a photograph of my beloved little brother, Ryan. He attends school at Union Star however they have begun co-oping some sports programs with King City, giving the Star kids more opportunities and he was on the Junior High track team this year. The photo is of him throwing the discus, however he also threw the shot put and ran in the four by four hundred relay. I hear he's pretty fast for a big guy, I never got to see him running, participating in the first and last event makes for a long evening, just ask my dad :)

And now for our biggest news....Babies, babies, and more babies!!

My sister Kelsey and her boyfriend Gary are expecting their first little boy September 10 and Tyler and Jenny are expecting their first little girl October 3. We can't wait a baby right before and right after Tennyson's birthday, he better get used to not being the center of attention (right do kids every really get over that).

Anyways that's what I know for now. I really am going to try this summer to update more often but who knows...if you see me out and about and I haven't updated, please harass me relentlessly. I really do want to keep you guys updated on our amazing miracle. The Lord hasn't just blessed us once, it's a daily blessing to have this perfect and precious little one with us. He teaches us and tries us, but above all loves us...we can't imagine our lives without him, or without you.

Thanks for hanging in there with me, all our love-
Lindsay
